I have struggled with bad car luck since I started driving 10 years ago. I blame this on bad luck but mostly on the fact that I’m basically clueless when it comes to cars. When my dad was alive he handled all the repair conversations and concerns for me and he had an excellent mechanic. Shortly after his death that mechanic retired and for the past 6 years I’ve paid $700 multiple times for routine brake maintenance and other things that I was grossly overcharged for. I recently moved in near Allen’s Auto and when my car started smoking in my friend’s driveway last month, I decided to have it towed there since it was so close to my home.
They diagnosed and fixed the problem in about a week and communicated with me throughout the entire process. They even sent me a link to a website that showed everything they saw in my car that needed repairs, complete with photos and documentation from the tech. This BLEW my mind. I showed everyone I knew because I was so impressed. The total cost for everything was significantly less than what I had been prepared for which was such a relief given that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and I had just paid moving costs.
Not only that, they mailed me a card after my car was fixed to say thank you but really I should have been the one mailing them a card! I also got a letter today with a 3 month free subscription to Sirius XM from them. Truly incredible. I’ve never been so blown away in my life.
And on top of already amazing service, they called me yesterday to check in on how my car is running and if I had any issues or concerns.
When I tell you I have been searching for YEARS for a mechanic’s shop that won’t rip me off because I’m naive and car illiterate, I mean literally years. I’m so glad I moved in nearby and found this absolute gem of a shop. They’ll have my business as long as I’m in Vermont and driving because I’m that happy. I can’t stop telling everyone I know how much I loved my experience here.
If you’re looking for a shop that won’t rip you off, does excellent work, and seems to seriously care about you and your car look no further. You’ve found it.
